Introduction
If you'd like the Lexus IS F performance sedan better with two fewer doors, your wait is almost over. The 2015 Lexus RC F amps up the IS sedan's performance with a stronger engine, increased handling ability and a sleek coupe shape. It should arrive in dealer showrooms by the end of the year.
The Lexus RC F shares its wheelbase with the RC 350, but is about a half-inch longer and wider. Power comes from a 450-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 ? the strongest V8 from yet -- joined to an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Lexus hasn't announced performance or fuel economy figures, but says the RC F will beat the IS F sedan on both counts. In our testing, the IS F accelerated from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, while the EPA rates it at 18 mpg combined.
